BladeBook SMS messaging program

BladeBook is an appointment-booking app for barbershops. 1865 Free Money LLC owns and operates BladeBook and is the sole sender of these messages. We send from our own phone number, about appointments the recipient arranged themselves. We do not send on behalf of any other company, we do not resell messaging capability, and we never buy, rent, or import phone number lists.

How you opt in

The only way a number enters this program is that the customer typed it into BladeBook themselves while arranging their own appointment. There are three collection points:

Booking checkout in the BladeBook app — After choosing a barbershop, a barber, a service, and a time slot, the customer types their name and their own mobile number. The disclosure below appears directly beneath the phone field, above the confirm button.
Joining a shop's walk-in waitlist in the app — The customer taps “Join waitlist,” then enters their name and mobile number. Same disclosure, same position.
Walk-in check-in on the web (kiosk) — The customer scans the shop's BladeBook QR code, or uses the tablet at the front desk, and types their number into the browser. No app and no account required. Same disclosure, same position — this page renders that exact component below.

The messaging disclosure is its own statement attached to the phone field. It is not bundled into accepting our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, which are linked separately. There is no pre-checked consent box anywhere in the flow.

The consent step, live from production

Below is the real component BladeBook renders directly beneath the phone field, above the confirm button, at every point where we ask for a mobile number. The checkbox works — note that it starts unchecked. The phone field on this page does nothing; nobody is enrolled from here.

What we send

Transactional — consented by entering your number

These are how the booking is delivered to you, so giving us a number to reach you at is consent to receive them:

Running-late notice — your barber tells you they are running behind for the appointment you booked, and by how long.
Walk-in waitlist updates — your position in line at the shop you checked into, your estimated wait, and a heads-up when your chair is ready.
A one-time opt-in confirmation, the first time a number joins the program and only the first time.

Promotional — requires the separate checkbox above

Re-booking reminder — if you asked your barber to put you on a recurring haircut schedule and ticked the optional box shown above, a periodic nudge when you are due for your next cut. Ticking that box is not required to book, and if it is unticked we never send you one.

Frequency, cost, and how to stop

Frequency: varies by how often you book — approximately 1 to 6 messages per appointment cycle.
Cost: BladeBook does not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
Stop: reply STOP to any message and we stop texting that number immediately.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
